Providing training and skill building for adults with mental illness to help them live more independently.

Domestic Violence Education

This service offers individuals the opportunity to become educated on Intimate Partner Violence and Domestic/Family Violence. It will cover topics such as; what is domestic violence, types of abuse, the cycle of violence, red flags of abuse, healthy versus unhealthy relationships, how domestic violence can impact a victim and children, and empowerment. The service will also help identify other community resources as needed for individuals. This service can be paired with outpatient therapy for those who need counseling or therapeutic support.

Individual Therapy

Licensed clinicians provide regularly scheduled face-to-face or telehealth clinical intervention sessions with individuals, couples or families struggling with mental health or behavioral challenges.  Clinicians help guide individuals in solving problems that result in positive, long lasting change.

Mental Health Skill-Building

Counselors assist adults (who have a serious mental illness) with individualized training to enable them to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment. These services include activities of daily living, use of community resources, assistance with medication management, and monitoring health, nutrition, and physical condition.

Parent Coach/Aide

This program is a one-on-one strengths based service that incorporates the Nurtured Heart Approach. Counselors identify the parent needs and family strengths and guides the parent in utilizing a positive parenting approach system.  This positive behavioral systems technique creates positive, successful parenting skills, consistency in rules and consequences for children, reduction of negative behaviors,  and healthy, long-lasting relationships within the family systems.

Parent Reunification

Counselors offer one on one support to a parent trying to work through the process of reunifying their family. The worker can provide support, be a role model, link parents to services, and assist them in understanding and following through with court order to meet the guidelines provided in order to reunify their family.

Supervised Visitation

Strategic Therapy Associates works with local Human Services agencies to provide a safe, neutral environment for children to have a relationship with their parents. The visitation should occur at DSS or the provider's office only when safety of the children is a concern. The visitation is supervised by a Strategic Therapy Associates staff who are all QMHP’s or Bachelors level staff who have experience in family and child dynamics.
